Do you know what your business does?
If you answer “architecture” then you’re in big trouble. I want a real answer. I want to know what types of projects you specialise in, I want to know your design process, I want to know who your target audience is, and I want to know why you’re different. All of this is business planning stuff. So if you’re thinking about building a new website your first step may actually be hiring a business coach. Once you know what your business is about you can then think about how that business presents itself online. It will set the theme for how you write, it will allow you to choose the best projects and it will help you map out a better path for your clients and other audiences. You’re going to be creating a journey with your website, so you need to understand what that journey is about before embarking on it.
